2027: The Issachar Leaders Who Know What to Do
The Issachar tribal leaders famously according to scripture knew what Israel was to do. By 2027 as current international trends develop, we will need a new Church leadership that knows what the Church is to do in a greatly changing world order.
In 1 Chron. 13: 32 we read "And of the children of Issachar which were men that had understanding of the times to know what Israel ought to do the, heads of them were two hundred"
The context of this scripture is appropriate for where we are now in evangelical Charismatic church history. As the largest growing move of God on earth (1 billion by 2030!) we need to know what the Israel of God (the Church) ought to do in the years and decades ahead.
This scripture refers to a similar situation. David was king of Judea for 7 years after his successful rebellion against Saul. But the rest of Israel was still being ruled by Saul's son after the death of Saul. This was an untenable situation. But the children of Issachar understood the times and knew what to do. It was time for a new king, a new anointing...a new united nation. Israel needed to join king David and Judah. 200 men knew it was time for a different move of God.
All the rest of Israel joined in and proclaimed David king. David then united the new nation to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem and unite the nation in worship of the Lord....and then they set about wiping out the Philistine enemy out of the land so the people could possess their inheritance and prosper in peace and security.
In my many years to be part of this great move of God I have heard many inspiring sermons of dynamic leaders proclaiming "we are the new Issachar generation". We know what the Lord is saying to our generation. We know what is to be done. Unfortunately too many reminded me of Saul. Scripture says Saul was head and shoulders taller than any man in Israel (1 Sam.9:2). In people who were plagued by Philistines with giants leading their army this was exactly the leader Israel wanted. As they told Samuel "we want a king like other nations to fight our battles for us".
This is the era of our movement throughout the 20th Century. Giants in the pulpit with an audience and a congregation happy to support the ministry with finances to fight our spiritual battles for us. Make no mistake, I love and appreciate the great trials and tribulations the great giants of our movement had to go through to preach the gospel..
But the time of the preacher as CEO and Celebrity acclaim is over. And so is miracle money for nothing. And so is religious entertainment as praise and worship. This is the manifestation of an "end times Church age" still waiting for and end times that don't seem to end.
The next 50 years are not going to be anything like the past 50 years.
Which is why I mention 2027. Here in 2026 I see a host of problems that will metastasize into critical crises in 2027-2030. And this is going to need an Issachar company to lead the church into a new era. While Saul's kingdom was led by a giant of a man, David's army was a host of "mighty men".
The transition? From a congregation as audience and one man doing the work. To a congregation of "mighty men" of God (and women) each anointed to do the greater works Jesus said would come. Why? because the problems ahead are of such a magnitude and challenge that governments and economic systems will buckle under the crush of collapse and the people of God will have to rally as the army of God to heal thee land.
Look ahead at the signs of the times to understand the times....
For those of you looking at Israel as the one true sign that this the end times and the Second Coming is therefore any moment now. Look carefully. Israel is collapsing economically and socially after 2 years of constant war. Israel is the most hated nation in the world (and certainly not a light to the nations). America is its only support and that support is about to end. The vast majority of Americans are now against any more military and financial support for Israel. The Israel attack on Iran and Lebanon and Gaza and the West Bank has been a major loss for Israel. And for President Trump a political disaster. How blessed is he and America for "standing with Israel"?
The world economy is in disaster state. Every economy is over-debted. American treasury bonds interest rates are highest in history. And America is not alone. Europe is even worse. The Japanese Yen is collapsing because Japanese export industry has collapsed. So is Germany. It is in de-industrialization. When interest rates are this high mortgages are so high that middle class people are not able to afford to buy a house never mind new married couples. America must refinance $12 trillion in the next year.
Social payments to the vast elederly and needy of the top economies are now unaffordable. The social welfare nations don't have the tax income to pay rising debt payments and still support the welfare benefits. They will still keep mounting the debt binge for a few years but it will all collapse. The social consequences for the elderly, the sick, the hungry will be catastrophic.
The world energy crisis is upon us. Forget the quoted price of oil. It is fake manipulation. The Iran war has destroyed oil infrastructure across the Gulf region.
Even if the Straits of Hormuz open tomorrow it will take at least three years to fix.
High oil and gas prices mean we are looking at an international economic depression.
By 2027 world famine and hunger will be in the headlines. Ukraine and Russia account for the majority of world grain exports. Right now the autumn harvest is supposed to be harvested in the Ukraine which accounts for 50 million mt of grain. Except it cannot harvest for lack of diesel and the port of Odessa is destroyed. Russia also cannot export through the Black sea as the war has closed all shipping. There is an international shortage of diesel and fertilizers now and worse in 2027. There are droughts in many major nations, America, Europe, South America. There is major weather catastrophe developing with a mega El Nino coming next year. Limited world grain supply will go to nations who can pay for it. The global South faces famine next yeaa.
The Ukraine and Iran war has made a major change in world war. Drones warfare has changed the whole threat potential for small nations against major nations. Drones stopped the mighty American navy from opening the Hormuz straights and allowed Iran to devastate Gulf nations oil infrastructure. It has allowed the Houthi's of Yemen to stop shipping in the Red Sea. It has cause a years long battle for Russia and Ukraine to continue well beyond what was expected. Drones are now an international terror threat.
Then there is the now visible long term terminal destructive threat of de-population by all advanced economies. Women are not having babies. Couples are not marrying. Nothing that countries have tried to do through extra payments has not changed the crisis. In 2035 one third of China's population will be over 60 years of age. Europe, Asia will follow. That means the aged and needy populations increase and not enough children and young people to replace them. Meaning lack of workers and tax payers. Meaning no more "endless growth" for corporate capitalism.
I can mention many more critical issues. All these are issues now appearing. All will become critical from 2027 onward.
And that means for a church that has to face the long term future beyond an "end times" time horizon this is a time for both hope and rejoicing and re-structuring.
As time goes on I will outline and expand on the road ahead...
-We will have to start to identify if the rapture is not our way out of the world then what is God's purpose for us in this world and in this time.
- What is our Promised Land to be possessed?
- How do we organize ourselves so that we are not dependent on the institutions of a collapsing world system for employment and sustenance?
- How do we identify and use the great wealth of knowledge and technology now available to us to create a new long lasting Kingdom Civilization to fill the waste places left behind by dying world?
That is the job of a new Issachar Generation:
- What really are the times in which we are now moving into?
- What are we to do in these times to manifest the Kingdom of God in this time and for our next generation?
